Detail Brazing Alloys

THE BENEFITS OF BRAZING?

Brazing is the joining of metals through the use of heat and a filler metal - a filler metal whose melting temperature is above 450°C but below the melting point of the metals being joined. Brazing is probably the most versatile method of metal joining today, for a number of reasons. Brazed joints are strong. On non-ferrous metals and steels, the tensile strength of a properly made joint will often exceed that of the metals joined. On stainless steel, it is possible to develop a joint whose tensile strength is 130,000 pounds per square inch (800 N/mm). Brazed joints are ductile, able to withstand considerable shock and vibration. Brazed joints are generally easy and rapid to make, and operator skill readily acquired.

ATTENTION: when brazing with B (bare) rods use Flux 810 CU( F21)

BRONZE TYPE BRAZING ALLOYS FOR JOINING STEEL, CAST-IRON GALVANIZED STEEL :
-842 BB : Multi purpose brazing rod. For strong joints and build-ups on copper, brass, bronze, steel, galvanized and cast iron.

-860 BB :
Silver containing brazing alloy for joining steel, copper alloy and galvanized steel, Excellent bonding and flowing, high strength, Unique flux coating allows fast and easy brazing

-
865 BB :
Special nickel bronze alloy for high strength joining and build-ups. Use for overlaying and build-up of gear teeth, bearings, shafts, valve seats, wedge bars and steering knuckles, furniture and bicycle assemblies, attaching carbide cutting tips.
